直线轴承与圆柱形光轴组合使用，是直线运动的产品。 
承受负荷的钢球与光轴之间为点接触，因此可以在较小摩擦阻力情况下实现轻快的直线运动。 
轴承套采用高碳铬轴承钢制成，经过热处理后再对其内外表面进行研磨加工和精加工。 
直线轴承在轻负荷且不受振动、冲击等作用的办公设备、医疗设备、包装设备、机床等中使用。  
但是，不能用于旋转方向上会承受负荷的用途。
